Are your costumes ready? Family Halloween Night is this Sunday from 4-6 PM. Bring the kiddos to trick or treat through the entire high school! We’ll also have games, treats, and a haunted house for the older children! The trick-or-treating event is FREE and family friendly! Haunted House Pricing: $3/person or $10 for a group of 4 (or $2 per extra person for a group more than 4). Please note, the haunted house is scary and not intended for younger children.

It’s National School Bus Safety Week! When it comes to school transportation, the greatest risk to a child isn’t riding a school bus. It’s approaching or leaving one. Yellow lights on a school bus indicate the bus is preparing to stop. If you’re driving, slow down, stay alert, and watch out for children. See the school bus stop-arm? Time to STOP! Racing past the arm puts young lives in jeopardy. Please slow down and be aware of school buses on the road and help keep our Warriors safe!

Our October Board of Education meeting is tonight at 7:00 PM at Mecosta Elementary.

The Middle School and High School complex was placed under a brief lockdown this afternoon out of an abundance of caution due to a student discipline issue.

Just a reminder about our Wellness Center’s Flu & COVID Vaccine Clinic next Friday, October 18 from 12-4 in the Middle School Library. This clinic is available for all students and adults who live within the Chippewa Hills community. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged to avoid long wait times and to ensure we have enough vaccines on hand. To make an appointment, call the Chippewa Hills Wellness Center at 989-967-2290. The cost of the flu shot and COVID vaccine is covered by most insurance companies. For those without insurance, the cost is $40 for a regular dose, or $46 for high-dose. Schedule your appointment today!

Text alerts are coming! During the month of October, we will be rolling out text alerts for emergency communications from Chippewa Hills. Text alerts will be used for urgent situations like school closures and delays, power outages, emergency cancellations, and building lockdowns. We will still continue to use all of our other communication methods for emergencies (like the CHSD app, social media, email, radio/TV announcements, etc), and text alerts are simply another tool we’re adding to our arsenal for distributing needed information quickly. Day-to-day updates, reminders, and announcements will continue to be shared via the CHSD app, Rooms, social media, and email. **PARENTS: In order to receive text alerts, it is essential for you to make sure the school has your correct cell phone number on file! You can verify that information by checking your account information in Skyward Family Access or by calling your child’s school office. You can also fill out this form and we will update your cell phone information: https://chsd.us/forms/text-alerts-parent-cell-phone-information TEST MESSAGES: We have scheduled 3 tests for text alerts on the following days/times: • Wednesday, October 16 at 12:00 PM • Wednesday, October 23 at 12:00 PM • Wednesday, October 30 at 12:00 PM If you do NOT receive the first test message on October 16, please update your cell phone information with the school ASAP. 🏈 GAME DAY! 🏈 Tonight is our last home varsity football game of the season! Chippewa Hills hosts Tri County at 7 PM at Warrior Stadium! It's also Senior Night and our Warriors vs Cancer event! We'll be recognizing our Senior fall sport athletes at 6:30 PM. We'll also be honoring all cancer warriors in our community with a special halftime celebration where they will ring the victory bell! We look forward to seeing you there!

Are you coming to Friday’s Warriors vs Cancer football game? We’re inviting all cancer warriors (those who have defeated cancer and those that are fighting) in our community to ring the victory bell during a special halftime celebration! We will also be making luminaries to honor all our loved ones affected by cancer. Our students will make the luminaries, which will be displayed along the track throughout the evening. All children in our community are invited to come trick or treating through the haunted hallways of Chippewa Hills! Parents, did you know you can view your student’s grades, missing assignments, attendance, class schedules and more through Skyward Family Access? You can also check your own account to verify that we have the most up-to-date contact information on file for you. Skyward can be accessed on our website from any of our building pages. Just click on the school info tab (like High School Info, for example) and go to Skyward Family Access. You’ll also see a Skyward button beneath the banner pictures on every building’s home page. You can also access Skyward on your phone using the CHSD Warriors app. Just go to the Documents tab on any building page and click on Skyward Access. To access Skyward, login information is required for every parent. If you do not have your login information, you can contact your student’s school office to get your Skyward username and password. Once you’re logged in, check your account information by clicking My Account in the upper right corner.
